Orthopaedic surgeons at NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital provide non-surgical and surgical care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions in adults. Our orthopaedic surgeons treat more than 4,000 people each year, using the latest technology and offering minimally invasive surgery whenever possible. Our specialized services include:
Foot and Ankle Care
We care for people with foot and ankle trauma; toe, foot, and ankle deformities; and arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle.
Sports Medicine
We treat sports-related injuries to the musculoskeletal system, including the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Spine Care
Through The Spine Hospital, we provide the most advanced non-surgical and surgical care of herniated discs, degenerative arthritis, radiculopathy (pain, numbness. and weakness caused by nerve compression), scoliosis (curvature of the spine), and other conditions. Our surgeons are experts in both minimally invasive spine surgery as well as the most complex spinal reconstructions.
Center for Hip and Knee Replacement
Ours is one of the few institutions in New York City that offers both computer-guided knee replacement and partial knee replacement, allowing for smaller incisions and a quicker recovery.
Hip Fracture Service
We understand that a hip fracture can place a patient and family on a long road to recovery. People with hip fractures receive care from orthopaedic trauma surgeons, who choose the optimal surgical treatment, monitor incisions, and determine the best course of rehabilitation after surgery for each patient; medical doctors, who ensure the optimal health of patients before surgery and monitor them after surgery; physical therapists, who teach patients to walk again; and social workers and case managers, who help patients obtain safe and appropriate placement in a subacute rehabilitation facility or receive services at home.
Hand and Upper Extremity/Microvascular Care
We treat hand and elbow injuries, deformities, arthritis, nerve compression (carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome), and masses (such as ganglions and tumors).
Minimally Invasive Approaches
Our orthopaedic surgeons are experienced in the use of minimally invasive surgical procedures for treating the wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, and spine, which minimize postoperative pain, blood loss, and recovery time. We routinely employ regional anesthesia to minimize anesthesia use during surgery and to control pain after surgery.
