Podiatrists at NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital provide expert care for disorders of the foot, with the goal of restoring alignment and function, reducing pain and discomfort, and improving your quality of life. The Division of Podiatry is part of the Department of Orthopaedics at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
A Conservative Approach
Our team takes a nonsurgical approach to foot and ankle care whenever possible, reserving surgery only when other treatments are not effective. Most surgical procedures can be performed under sedation, allowing you to make an easy transition to home on the same day and achieve a quicker return to your daily activities.
Comprehensive Expertise
Our podiatrists treat a wide range of foot and ankle disorders, including bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, flatfoot, pain in the ball of the foot, tendinitis, and other foot deformities.
Special Care for People with Diabetes
Our podiatrists are part of the team that cares for people with wounds associated with diabetes, which are often slow to heal, cause discomfort, and raise the risk of infection. We customize a plan of care for each patient to treat existing diabetic foot wounds and to reduce the risk of future wounds. We use specialized dressings and surgical approaches to speed healing. Our team also works closely with an orthotist to create specialized footwear for people with active wounds, a history of wounds due to diabetes, or poor circulation.

All surgical podiatrists at Allen Hospital are on the staff of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, one of the country's major academic medical centers.
