On Tuesday October 29, Town & Country held their annual Philanthropy Summit, a morning dedicated to the power of generosity in the world.
The summit, which is co-sponsored by NewYork-Presbyterian, featured Sarah Ferguson, Vice President of Patient Services and Patient Experience, who also introduced a panel on caregiving. As a liaison between patients and NYP, Sarah has seen first-hand the selflessness and courage shown by caregivers toward their family members or friends.
Led by iconic journalist Katie Couric, the panelists—former NFL pro Michael Strahan, dad to Isabella, and Emma Heming Willis, wife of Bruce Willis—spoke emotionally about their personal caregiving journeys.
“Their sacrifice, the omnipresent nature of their support, their staunch advocacy, commitment, and healing touch,” said Sarah in her remarks, “all of these beautiful qualities are impactful and humbling to me and to all of those who are blessed to witness the caregiver’s impact on a daily basis.”
