Advanced Care for Heart Problems Due to Cancer Treatment

Advances in cancer therapy have led to better outcomes and longer survival for thousands of people with cancer. Some of these treatments, unfortunately, may cause heart problems, including heart failure.

NewYork-Presbyterian's heart specialists are highly experienced in providing care for all stages of heart failure in people who have been treated for cancer. We are equipped to diagnose and treat patients receiving high-dose anthracycline therapy (such as doxorubicin) who have a high risk of developing heart failure, as well as those who develop complications of heart failure due to immunotherapy.

In addition, our team is among the most experienced in the care of cancer survivors who develop advanced heart failure and require left ventricular assist devices (LVADs)—which help your heart pump blood to the rest of your body—and/or heart transplantation.
