Speech and Swallowing Disorders

The Hearing and Speech Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Division of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and rehabilitation services for people with disorders of speech, language, voice, and swallowing. Services include complete assessment of these disorders using the most technologically advanced instrumentation.

Our skilled practitioners — including certified speech-language pathologists — offer programs for the treatment of speech and language disorders, voice rehabilitation following laryngectomy, resonance disorders, and swallowing therapy. We also have Spanish-speaking specialists who can offer services to patients in Spanish.

At NewYork-Presbyterian, dedicated services are available for patients whose speech and swallowing problems are related to neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Huntington' disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease), and dystonia. NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell also features the specialized Center for the Performing Artist, which includes special therapy services for voice, ear, nose, and throat disorders in performers.
