Iona University
A Cutting-Edge Education in the Health Sciences
A school on the rise, Iona University is where innovation meets opportunity. Founded in 1940 and inspired by the legacy of Blessed Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, Iona’s two picturesque campuses in New Rochelle and Bronxville, N.Y., are both conveniently located just 20 miles north of Midtown Manhattan. Iona students enjoy small class sizes, engaged professors and a wide array of degree programs. A newly opened campus in Westport, Ireland, strengthens Iona’s commitment to providing transformative service-learning opportunities around the world.
Established in 2021, the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences is a premier new school providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and training in the new Kelly Center for Health Sciences. The Nursing Department offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including a traditional, 4-year, direct-entry Bachelor of Science and an accelerated, 16-month, second-degree ABSN. In partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian, two newly added Master of Science in Nursing graduate degree programs have been created: The Master of Science in Nursing Education and Nursing Healthcare Organizational Leadership. Students completing the Master of Science programs will receive high quality clinical experiences alongside NewYork-Presbyterian nursing leaders who are recognized in their fields.
Iona’s nursing curriculum was developed with feedback from NewYork-Presbyterian nurse leaders. In addition, students will gain from having NewYork-Presbyterian leaders as adjunct professors and frequent guest lecturers. Iona’s collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian further benefits students by providing access to clinical placements, hands-on experience with highly respected health professionals, and full-time career opportunities after graduation.
