Dr. Sallie Permar, an eminent physician-scientist who focuses on the treatment and prevention of neonatal viral infections, has been appointed chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and pediatrician-in-chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital, effective Dec. 1.

John Park, M.D., Ph.D, has been named chief of neurological surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, where he leads a neurosurgical team that provides world-class care for conditions of the brain and spine. He was also recruited to serve as professor of neurological surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Nine NewYork-Presbyterian leaders have been named to the Crain’s New York Business 2020 “Notable in Health Care” list, which recognizes outstanding individuals in the health care community who have made an impact on New York City in significant ways. NewYork-Presbyterian Launches Dalio Center for Health Justice
NewYork-Presbyterian today launched the Dalio Center for Health Justice, dedicated to understanding and improving health equity, addressing health justice, and driving action that results in measurable improvements in health outcomes for all.
The Dalio Center for Health Justice is the result of a $50 million grant from Dalio Philanthropies, whose founder Ray Dalio is a NewYork-Presbyterian Trustee and an important thought partner behind the center. Among the center’s priorities will be reducing health disparities that disproportionately affect communities of color.
