Family-Centered Care
At the cornerstone of the labor and delivery unit is a philosophy of family-centered care to support new mothers and promote bonding and healing after the baby’s birth. We encourage the active participation of mothers and their families in caring for newborns and encourage you to keep your baby at your bedside throughout the day and night. If you feel the need to rest and cannot do so while sharing the room with your baby, we will care for your infant in the nursery. We are committed to keeping you well-informed and educated about your baby’s care and needs and offer many resources for families, including breastfeeding education and various support groups. Before you go home, the nurses will teach you how to care for your newborn, assist you in adjusting to parenthood, and provide information about your baby’s physical needs and developmental changes.
