Head & Neck Cancers
Why Choose Us
All the head and neck cancer services you need in one hospital
Head and neck cancers include tumors of the tongue base, tonsils, salivary glands, nasal cavity, larynx, pharynx, and skull base. While many head and neck cancers are caused by smoking and alcohol abuse, doctors are witnessing an increase in certain cancers due to infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV).
At the Weill Cornell Medicine Meyer Cancer Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, our head and neck cancer specialists take a team approach to treating your cancer. Their goal is threefold: to destroy your tumor, preserve your appearance and function, and minimize the effects of treatment on your quality of life. The Meyer Cancer Center provides access to every type of treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy.
We also participate in clinical trials to evaluate new approaches to caring for people with head and neck cancers. Researchers are evaluating innovative surgical techniques, screening methods, and targeted therapies, among other areas of exploration. You may have the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial of a promising new therapy.
