NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) has opened dedicated innovation space at Blueprint Health, a New York City-based accelerator and co-working space for health tech startups. This new space will help foster the hospital’s collaboration with the technology and startup sector in New York City and bring new technologies into use at NYP. The first component of NYP's nascent Innovation Center, the site at Blueprint Health, will focus on developing a new portfolio of technology projects, including building on applications from the hospital’s recent hackathon, expanding existing initiatives such as award-winning patient bedside tablets, and developing new solutions in conjunction with Blueprint Health’s members.

Michael Borger, MD, PhD, has joined NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center as director of aortic surgery, effective August 1. He has also been appointed to the faculty of the Department of Surgery at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and director of the department’s Cardiovascular Institute.

Dr. Arnold P. Advincula has been named vice-chair of women's health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center and chief of gynecology at the Sloane Hospital for Women at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia. Dr. Advincula assumed his new role on February 1.
