NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has selected the winners of the InnovateNYP Open Challenge, a ten-week competition in which both the public and NewYork-Presbyterian employees submitted ideas to enhance patient care and provider communication.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, one of largest and most comprehensive hospitals in the nation, is ranked No. 1 in New York and No. 7 in the United States, according to the U.S. News and World Report annual survey of “Best Hospitals,” published online today. For the 15th consecutive year, the hospital was included in the prestigious Honor Roll, which recognizes national excellence in multiple specialties.

NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP), today announced a new collaboration with athenahealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHN), a leading provider of cloud-based services and mobile applications for medical groups and health systems.

NewYork-Presbyterian has launched a new physician enterprise with the NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Groups (NYPMG) to increase access to primary care, NewYork-Presbyterian’s leading healthcare services and world-renowned specialists. In collaboration with ColumbiaDoctors and Weill Cornell Physicians, the new physician enterprise will offer coordinated care delivery throughout the region with an initial focus on Westchester, Queens and Brooklyn.

Maurice LaBonne has been named senior vice president for facilities and real estate at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, effective July 15. Mr. LaBonne joins NewYork-Presbyterian from Hudson Medical Properties, where he served as a senior principal.

New York Hospital Queens and NewYork-Presbyterian have joined forces to improve access to state-of-the-art care for residents of Queens. New York Hospital Queens, a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System for more than 22 years, has been renamed NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens effective July 1.

A state-of-the-art implant designed to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is now being offered at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The device is the first of its kind approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), the current standard of care for OSA.

NewYork-Presbyterian has announced that Rick Evans is returning as senior vice president and chief experience officer, effective November 1.
