A major international study has found that drug-eluting stents, a less-invasive alternative to bypass surgery, is as safe and effective as surgery for most patients with a blockage in the left main coronary artery.

Lawrence Hospital Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).

Lawrence Hospital Center is offering free skin cancer screenings. According to SkinCancer.org, "September is here, but sun protection is not just a summer responsibility. The risk of skin cancer, which is associated with the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation, is a concern throughout the year."
